Zydus might soon come up with Covid-19 vaccine; human trials started

ZyCoV-D, its plasmid DNA vaccine, was found to be safe, immunogenic and well-tolerated in the pre-clinical toxicity studies, Zydus said.

An Indian pharmaceutical company Zydus has claimed that they have started human trials for its potential COVID-19 vaccine.

India right now stands as the third worst affected country by Covid-19. On Tuesday, India recorded its peak in single day cases when it reported more than 30,000 cases.

ZyCoV-D, its plasmid DNA vaccine, was found to be safe, immunogenic and well-tolerated in the pre-clinical toxicity studies, Zydus said.

In the human trials, Zydus will enroll over 1,000 subjects across multiple clinical study sites in India.
