when his poor health forced him to retire from live touring, Avicii wrote to his fans saying “I will never let go of music.” And his words echo loud and clear today, as he embarked his journey to humble abodes of heaven.
It is said people may die but their memories will never fade. Such a dynamic personality was Avicii. When his health went under the weather and forced him to retired from live touring in 2016, Swedish DJ Avicii wrote to his fans saying: “I will never let go of music.” And his words echo loud and clear today, as he embarked his journey to humble abodes of heaven.
Grammy-nominated Swedish musician, DJ, and record producer Tim Bergling, popularly known as Avicii, died April 20 at 28, leaving behind a legacy of chart-topping music with collaborators such as Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Madonna, and Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong.
The talented lad, Avicii began his music career in 2009 as a producer and went on to pull of international stardom, racking up Top 10s on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Dance/Electronic Chart.
Not only this, but he also garnered nominated for Grammy Awards in 2012 and 2013 for his songs “Sunshine” with David Guetta and “Levels.” He won the American Music Award for favorite electronic dance music artist in 2013.
Let’s take a ride back to the songs of the memorable musician, DJ, and record producer Avicii.
Avicii – Levels
The dance track hit us in 2011 and was a Avicii’s breakout craze. It reached the Top Ten in 15 countries. “Levels” samples Etta James’ “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” and includes her vocals. The video has over 300 million views on YouTube currently.
Avicii - Wake Me Up
This was the first studio album, “True,” released in September 2013 with international hit “Wake Me Up” as the lead single. The song went at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, sparked the radio stations during 2013, and went platinum six times.
Avicii - Addicted To You
Avicii was the co-writer of this track with Mac Davis, Josh Krajcik, and Pournouri. He also joined hands with another American singer for this song, folk-rock musician Audra Mae.
Avicii - The Days
Keeping a pace away from a few of his typical partners, Avicii co-wrote “The Days” as well with Swedish Grammy Award-winning producers Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare and U.K. vocalist Robbie Williams. The song was released on two-track extended play “The Days/ Nights EP.”
Avicii - Waiting For Love
Avicii produced this track with another successful EDM musician, Martin Garrix. The song was the lead single off Avicii’s second album titled “Stories.”
Rest in peace Avicii
