There are certain similarities that we can draw from Bollywood and Hollywood while we are not pitting the two against each other. Besides their love for A-list celebrities, the two entertainment giants have an ongoing affair that spans decades with the gambling scene. Stick around as we explore the casino industry through the lenses of India`s celebrated entertainment heavyweight.

Top Bollywood Casino Scenes

Now that you know about Bollywood`s fascination with the gambling world, wouldn`t it be great if we took the time to explore its productions that offer the best casino scenes? You will be in for a treat if your answer is yes. Without further ado, let`s take a look at India`s action-packed and captivating movies that offer extraordinary casino scenes

Teen Patti

Released in 2010, Teen Patti is a Bollywood Thriller, and its running time is 3 hours 24 minutes. The film`s lead roles are played by Amitabh Bachchan (Venkat the professor), Ben Kingsley (Perci, the greatest mathematician), Shraddha Kapoor (one of the three geek students).

Perci invites Venkat (a genius mathematics and software engineering professor) to a high roller casino in London. Venkat tells Perci of a mathematical formula that could alter the world`s understanding of mathematics forever by redefining various principles of probability and randomness.

After formulating a foolproof theory, Venkat submits it to the institute where he teaches, but it gets rejected. Confident that his theory can work in real-life situations, the professor confides with the younger associate professor—Shantanu, who assembles a team of three geeky students.

Venkat proceeds to test the theory with the assistance of Shantanu and the three students. Like in the previous trials, the theory is successful. After persuasion by the younger professor, Venkat agrees to experiment with the theory on Teen Patti in underground gambling dens, parties, and casinos. The movie will keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow the betrayal, blackmail, and greed brought by the theory`s success.

The Gambler

Three words best describe The Gambler: Timeless Casino Movie. Released in 1971, the Gambler`s running time is 2 hours 34 minutes, and it is one of the most famous gambling movies not only in India but across the world. Like Teen Patti, The Gambler is a Bollywood Thriller, but its storyline might deceive you into thinking that it`s a romantic movie.

Raja (Dev Anand) is abandoned by his mother at a very young age. The innocent boy is taken up by a Master (a criminal don) who raises him as his own son while at the same time teaches him about gambling. It is evident that the Master (played by Jeevan) grows fond of Raja when he expresses his wish to have the boy that he took in work for him on a commission basis.

With no desire to continue living under the shadow of his Master, Raja decides to make a name for himself using his acquired gambling skills. All goes well, and the once abandoned boy succeeds considerably. Besides becoming wealthy, Raja also finds love in the arms of Chandra Gangaram (played by Zaheeda)

Chandra`s dad is against the relationship between Raja and his daughter. Raja soon learns that his chances with Chandra are slim. According to Chandra`s dad, Ram Mehta (played by Sudhir) is the ideal suitor for his daughter. Raja is then convicted for the murder of his Master (Jeevan)—the gambling don.  Follow The Gambler`s court proceedings to find out Raja`s fate.

Striker

Bollywood thrillers aside, Striker falls in the category of drama/action movies, and the 2010-released film runs for 2 hours 8 minutes. You might not know this, but Striker was one of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2010. And this does not come as a surprise given that leading roles in the film are played by A-list stars such as Siddharth Narayan, Usha Jadhav, Padmapriya, and Aditya Pancholi.

The movie Striker follows the life of Suryakant Sarang, who, at the age of 12, emerges as the winner of the Junior Carrom Championship. Despite winning the local Carrom Championship, Suryakant gives up on the game which he was introduced to by his brother. He instead focuses on saving up enough money to allow him to travel to Dubai for better job opportunities.

A rouge overseas employment agency dupes Suryakant, and in the process, he loses every penny he had saved. Dreams of working in Dubai are now water under the bridge, and this is where our lead character crosses path with Jaleel—a self-proclaimed king of illicit underground activities.

With nothing left to lose, Suryakant decides to take on Jaleel. And this is how he dives back into the world of gambling. Watch Striker and find out if Suryakant can find justice for himself and everyone scammed by Jaleel.
