October has been a festive month, with a number of festivals back to back. In the coming days, it will be all about lights, diyas, rangoli, sweets and everything that makes up Diwali special. And who doesn’t like to make their house look presentable and clean on the festival? Looking at the huge chunks of clutter you cannot decide where to start or how to go by it? Exactly a week ahead, if you are fanatic about your messy house, NYOOOZ is here to help.

Here is your last minute guide for cleaning your house with ease.

Step 1- De-clutter your drawing room first

Festivals are one reason to give your house a makeover and to start with choosing your drawing room. Make some space to store all the cluttered things and start sorting things out. This time don’t keep items you haven’t used from years. Just get rid of them

Step 2- Sort out the mess and donate

This Diwali, sit back and sort out all your mess. Be it your books, clothes or kitchen stuff. Pile them up and donate it to the needy. You won’t be able to make some space until you decide to give away a few things forever. This festive season, donate and be the reason for somebody’s happiness.

Step 3- Tidy up your Wardrobe and shelves

Take a day to clean all the wardrobes and shelves in your house. Throwaway things which have exceeded their expiry date or you haven’t used from a long time. Arrange your wardrobe and things will get organized instantly.

Step 4- Reach out to the fans

Make sure that you clean the fans and ceilings before anything else because the dust will fall off, making things even more messy and dirty. Thus, clean your fans and AC first with a dry piece of cloth. Do not use wet cloth or sprays, to prevent electric shock.

    Step 5- Clean windows

You may not realize but windows play a very important role in making your rooms look neat and tidy. Clean window panes make the passage of light easy making your rooms look brighter and cleaner. Also, they catch dust very soon, therefore make sure these are the last piece you clean.

Step 6- Wash curtains, bed covers, and sofa covers

Since you’d be creating a lot more when cleaning your wardrobe, fands, windows and other things, there’s no point cleaning the curtains, bed covers or sofa covers beforehand. They will get dirty anyway. Therefore when you’re tired doing all the cleaning, just soak these heavy clothes for some time, take a break and then wash them clean.

Well, once you’re done with all the cleaning and satisfied that your house looks tidy and clean now, bring some light, make some good, and enjoy the festival with full enthusiasm and zeal.
