Amazon launches $250mn venture fund for startups, SMBs in India

Amazon has launched a $250 million venture fund to invest in technology-led startups and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in India. And we are very passionate about trying to enable acceleration of SMBs in fuelling innovation and the economy in India,” he said during the second Amazon Smbhav event. In the healthcare sector, the fund will invest in Indian startups using technology for doctor assistance, telemedicine, e-diagnosis and AI-powered treatment recommendations. The company also announced its first startup investment under the venture fund in ‘M1xchange’, which connects MSMEs with banks and financiers and vice versa through the marketplace exchange.
