From Cloud to Edge – how Edge Computing will power the age of data

As 5G networks become a reality and data volumes explode, edge computing platforms will need to leverage newer technologies fully. Edge computing takes data storage and compute closer to the source or the “edge” where the data is being produced. With edge computing, data is processed closer to the source, and there is no latency in data transfer to and from the cloud. Edge computing in telecom is called Mobile Edge Computing or Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC). Edge computing can also be enabled at enterprise premises and can be hosted and managed by communication service providers or others.
