Mumbai or Bombay (the official name until 1995) is a beautiful city in Maharashtra an Indian state. It is the state capital of Maharashtra and is considered the financial capital of India. It is a place where dreams are made and fulfilled. A place of jam-packed railway platforms, famous Dabbawalas, multi-millionaires, suburban slums, dazzling Bollywood, quintessential vada pav, bhel puri, and sev puri. If you are planning to visit Mumbai, make sure you explore the right places to imbibe the dynamic effervescence of this glaring city. To help you with that, I am suggesting some of the amazing places to visit in Mumbai, which will make you fall in love with this extravagant city repeatedly.

Gateway of India and the beaches of Mumbai are good places to visit in Mumbai, Gateway of India was built in 1924 by George Willet to honor the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Mumbai. The best time to visit these places is early morning or late evening hours.

Other places in Mumbai that nature lovers can visit are Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Powai Lake. Sprawling over an area of 104 sq. km. of land, Sanjay Gandhi National Park is one of the most-visited national parks in Asia. The park has all sorts of fun activities for all age groups. It is an entertaining place for Family. In addition to it, Mumbai also has a 12 m deep (spread over 6.6 km) artificial lake called Powai. Nature enthusiasts can see a wide variety of birds like sunbirds, kingfishers, kites, bulbuls, herons, ducks, parakeets, storks, and doves in this lake.

The visitors can also go to Elephanta Caves a group of (Buddhist and Hindu caves) that is approximately 10 km away from Mumbai. It is located on Elephanta Island, also known as Gharapuri island. The island has seven rock-cut caves, and it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mumbai has other attractive places to visit such as Siddhivinayak Temple, Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Zoo, Nehru Center, Taraporewala Aquarium, Mumbai, Smaaash Junior, Essel World, Shivaji Park, Chota Kashmir, sets of soap operas and film shootings.
