Visiting Lac d`Emosson

You can take a train around the mountainside to get spectacular views of Lac d`Emosson but don`t be fooled by its natural-appearing beauty. This lake is actually the largest dam Switzerland and isn`t actually a naturally occurring lake at all. That said, the views of Mont Blanc from here are jaw-dropping, and it is well worth a visit.

The dams assist in creating hydroelectricity which helps to power Switzerland, and it`s worth reading up on while enjoying a picnic near the top of the mountain here.
