IPL10: Why Debut Of Mohammed Siraj Is So Important For Cricket? Read

It was a rare moment when IPL debutant Mohammed Siraj, 23, entered Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium for the match against Delhi Daredevil on April 19th. Siraj, who was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise for a whopping price of Rs 2.6 Crores against the base price of Rs 20 Lakh, began his IPL journey with a bang.

The debutant has taken cricket pundits by surprise with his power-packed 39/2 performance. He hunted two biggies- Sam Billing and Sanju Samson who has been performing very well for Delhi. The pacer made his Ranji Trophy debut in November 2015 and as for T20, he made his debut in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in January 2016. Siraj, who played 11 first class matches and bagged 44 wickets and in the T20 matches, he picked 16 wickets.

Siraj’s incredible journey from a humble family of an auto driver to glamorous league cricket registers his name among players whose presence glorifies the sport per se. His struggle and unshaken confidence make him a true inspiration.

Once earned Rs 500 for outstanding performance of 9 wickets haul, today, he multipled the amount into millions by his hard work and sheer brilliance in bowling skill.

His father’s passion to make his son a successful cricketer is also incredible. Being an auto driver it was not easy to provide facilities that a budding cricketer needs. But Siraj’s father successfully overcame all the odds and now his son is playing amongst the star on the grandest stage.
