Harpreet to replace Sarfaraz Khan, his Flimsy IPL10 entry will surprise you

Harpreet Singh, 25, a domestic player, who had gone unsold due to a confusion over names, has finally got an opportunity to play in Indian Premier League 2017. Singh who plays for Madhya Pradesh will replace injured Sarfaraz Khan for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

So what exactly happened on that fateful day?

During the auction day, his teammate in the 2010 U19 World Cup, Harmeet Singh, involved in a bizarre incident. He was detained and later released on bail for driving his car on Andheri Railway station platform. The news agencies goofed up and mistook him for Harmeet Singh. As a result, Harpreet, the Madhya Pradesh batsman, remained unsold even though he was one of the most consistent cricketers in domestic circles.

Yet bereaved Singh, who played 17 first class matches and scored 462 runs with a century and half-century, was hopeful for his IPL chances as his domestic season was very successful. Once a member of the Under-19 team, Harpreet had started his IPL voyage with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2010. He also played 3 matches for Pune Warriors in 2013. Playing for 20 ‘List A’ matches, he has posted 531 runs with best 111 not out. He also played 16 T20 matches and scored 351 runs with 3 half centuries
