Before the clash between Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders and Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions, all cricket pundits were batting for KKR as Kolkata had won 3 matches in a row but Raina’s superb performance changed the scenario.  Powered by Raina’s blistering knock of 84 runs from 46 balls, GL tamed unstoppable KKR intheir own den.  He hit 4 sixes and 9 boundaries in his outstanding innings.

After the remarkable victory, like a real skipper Raina gave the credit to teamwork. “Our bowlers have done good job,” Raina said.“Brendon McCullum and Ravindra Jadeja had agreat partnership. We have played cricketing shot which was important at that moment,” the skipper added.He also praised Basil Thampi and Australian all-rounder James Faulkner for outstanding bowling performance.

Raina once again proved why he is being compared with run machine Sachin Tendulkar in IPL. He is highest  scorer with 4,341 runs in IPL history. Played as many as 153 matches, former CSK player has slammed 1 century and 30 half centuries in the league mathes.
