Sandeep Sharma’s unique feat: Gets Kohli, Gayle and Villier

The Indian Premier League’s one motive was to discover young talent and provide them with the platform to showcase their talent and the young guns this year are not shying away from the challenges, be it Rishabh Pant, Kishan or Sundar Washington, they have grabbed the opportunity with both hands and delivered for their team.

Similarly last night against the fallen giant RCB, another youngster Sandeep Sharma rose to the occasion, the talented medium pacer from Patiala yet again impressed everyone as he added one unique feat under his belt while helping Kings XI Punjab defeat the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 19 runs in Bengaluru.

The 23-year-old become the first bowler to dismiss three T20 specialists of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the same game as RCB were bowled out for the fourth time in this year’s IPL. He won the Man-of-the-match award. He first sent big man Gayle packing for a duck and then added Indian skipper Kohli (6) and De Villiers (10) to his list of wickets, finishing with an impressive figure of 3/22 in 4 overs. Sandeep who impressed everyone with his swing bowling last season carried on the momentum in this year’s edition as well.

After his comprehensive performance, Kings XI Punjab mentor Sehwag congratulated the youngster on the social media site Twitter, Sehwag wrote: “Great performance by Sandeep to become the 1st man to get all Gayle, Virat, ABD in a match. Axar Patel was brilliant. Congratulations Team!”
