IPL10: Injuries haunt again Gujarat Lions with exclusion of McCullum, Tye

Tye Indian Premier League is to enter in its 47th match and the fight for play-offs round is getting tougher with every game.  Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions have been already ousted from the play-offs race, while led by Glenn Maxwell Kings XI Punjab have still hope for the second-round.

Gujarat Lions will try to leave IPL10 with some victorious moments by winning rest 3 matches as the side  badly needs confidence-raising victory.  The outgoing GL have seemed out of touch in its second league. The misfortune made irreparable damage to GL as the team has now lost as many as 3 match winner players due to injuries. Series of unfavorable events was commenced with ouster of Caribbean Dwayne Bravo. Later, biggies Brendon McCullum and Andrew Tye have joined the injury list.

While McCullum has a hamstring injury, Tye dislocated his shoulder in during the clash against MI. Ousting of these big guns of short format costs most to Lions, the side have so far underplayed with winning just 3 matches in 11 games and GL is standing on 7th spot on points table.

Subsequently, the absent of the trio will definitely reduced the team strength and It is a challenging for Suresh Raina to replace them. Even all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja too missed the first two matches in the league

.Meanwhile, GL assistant coach Mohammed Kaif and captain Raina will have to work to select playing XI minus Brendon McCullum and Andrew Tye for clash with KXIP . While speaking to media, Kaif expressed disappointment saying injury is something that you can’t really help.Bravo is an all-rounder who can bowl, bat and field so yes we missed him, the coach said.
