The 47th match of IPL 2017 was another thriller of a contest with Gujarat Lions prevailing in the end. Although ,Lions are out of the playoff contention, but the win certainly helped them salvage some pride. But, the loss for Pujab means that their chances of making it to the playoffs are diminished even more.

Gujarat`s Dwayne Smith came out all guns blazing and hammered the Punjab bowlers all over the ground. Captain Suresh Raina and Ishan Kishan also made useful contributions,but t was Dinesh Karthik who sealed the victory in the end with some big hits under pressure.

Earlier, Hashim Amla`s struck his second century of the season and Miller also played a useful knock to guide Punjab to a score of 189. . Losing Martin Guptill early, Marsh and Amla steadied Punjab and build a 100-run partnership to put their team in a solid position. Gujarat, though being good with their bowling, couldn`t stop the flow of runs as Marsh and Amla showed some exquisite batting skills. For Gujarat, Dhawal Kulkarni finished with the figure of one for 24 in his four over.
