IPL10: Hashim Amla’s 2nd ton in league, KXIP again fail to thrive

Slamming his 2nd century in ongoing Indian Premier League 2017, Proteas Hashim Amla once again proved that why he is considered as strong man in cricket. With his second century, he has become the first player to score two tons this season.

He on Sunday created havoc with his bat in Mohali as he played all cricketing shots all-round the stadium. 34-year-old batsman was on rampage as he smashed 104 runs off 60 balls with 5 sixes and 8 fours. Though, his century went in vain as KXIP bowlers failed to defend high score of 189 runs and GL’s Dwayne Smith stole the show as his whirlwind 74 off 39 guided them to 6 wickets victory.

With this loss in important game, Punjab`s chances of making it to the playoffs have been blurred. Amla in the league is a silver line in the cloud as the batsman hasdisplayed a unmatchable show. Unfortunately, Amla’s both resounding centuries failed to award victories to his side. Coincidentally, his first ton, too, was 104 runs off 60 balls against MI but the fate unfavored to KXIP.

Unlike his league debut in IPL9 in which Amla just scored 157 runs, this year he rose as one of the most run-gainers with whopping 420 runs in 10 matches decorated with 2 tones and 2 half centuries. Moreover, he, recently hit headlines for displaying gentlemanship against RCB as he walked out before umpire’s decision and even bowler was not aware that Amla edged his delivery.

Meanwhile, his success in IPL has answered to those who said that Amla’s batting style does not suit to short format. The man, whose calm and humble gestures make him gentleman of the game, showed that when he holds bat he becomes brutal on bowlers.
