The 50th match of IPL 2017 went down to the wire with Delhi Daredevils winning it by two wickets in the end. Shreyas Iyer was the star player for Delhi Daredevils as he struck crucial 96 runs and stayed at the crease till the final over of the innings.Although, both the sides  are already out of play-off contention, but they played for pride and also provided opportunity for some of the youngsters to showcase their talent.Moreover, it was the first match at Kanpur this season and an opportunity for cricket fans in this part of the country to enjoy some entertaining stuff.

 Daredevils were reeling at one stage having lost 6 wickets for the score of 121 but Iyer and Pat Cummins quickfire 61-run stand guided the visitors home with two balls to spare. Even Amit Mishra decided to have his moment with the bat.When Iyer was dismissed, Delhi still required 7 runs from 4 balls. First ball, Mishra charged down and flicked the ball for a four towards mid-wicket. The next delivery was a slower full toss, taking an eternity to reach the batsmen, and Mishra scooped it towards fine leg.

 Earlier, Karthik and Aaron Finch took Lions to a formidable first innings total. Smart cricket from both batsmen built 50-run partnership and gave a solid platform to the home team. Aaron Finch during his innings scored his 13th IPL fifty, whereas on the other hand Dinesh Karthik scored 40.
