Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday has invited applications for the position of head coach of the team India as current coach Anil Kumble’s tenure will expire after ICC Champions trophy.

Being current coach of the team, Kumble had the prevelege of entering directly into the race. It is unclear that who are in the race for the head coach job.

In a press release, the cricket board informed that it was calling upon interested candidates for the position of head coach of the men`s team.
A nominee of the Committee of Administrators, along with the Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman will oversee the process of selecting the best candidate.

Selection process of current coach Kumble had triggered a controversy as Ravi Shastri had expressed his reservation over the selection of the former blower.

Shastri, team director till the end of the World T20 held earlier 2016, had also loggerhead with former cricket Sourav Ganguly for alleging overlook him in the coach selection process.
