Like Jose Mourinho, Yusuf Pathan believes `he is the special one’

Yusuf Pathan’s chances of representing India may be very slim but for KKR he is an important figure, having played 112 matches since 2011, one more than skipper Gautam Gambhir’s 111 indicates that he is doing something right for the popular Kolkata franchise.

This season so far he has played five matches, scoring 86 runs with a strike rate of 145.56. In the last game against Delhi, it was his sensible batting that bailed KKR form 21 for 3, scoring 39 balls 59 proving why he is so highly rated in the KKR ranks despite his game-changing knocks being few and far in between.

The hard-hitting Pathan recently stated that he is a special talent, and does not care as in who is ahead of him in Team India, "It does not matter to me who`s ahead of me (in representing India). I think no one can compete with me. I consider myself as a special talent," Pathan said.

He is not short of confidence and that very important for KKR, they need a player like who can hit the ball in any direction and change the completion of the game and the 34-year-old shares the same insight, stating that as long as he is at the crease, KKR can win matches. The man for Vadodara believes that at this stage of his career, Pathan only wants to enjoy his cricket. In KKR`s search for the elusive third title, Yusuf Pathan will surely play an important role.
