The 54 th match of IPL 2017 will be played between top two sides in the points table that is Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians .Being in the top two after league stage is crucial as it  comes with the incentive of having a second shot at the final in case of finishing on the wrong side in the first playoff match. The last time these two sides met, it was the Mumbai Indians who eventually came out on top.

MI are a little low on confidence having lost two matches on the bounce.They lost a close match to KXIP, and prior to that lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad on the road. Nitish Rana made a half century when these two side met last time. But Rana has not been in good form off late and is a big concern for Mumbai team.

On the other hand, Kolkata is also coming from a defeat to Punjab.It was a match they should have won, but let slip from their clutches. Robin Uthappa and fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile have both been ruled out of the match, possibly giving them more time to recover from their respective injuries.
