The journey of Kolkata Knight Riders began ten years ago when Shah Rukh Khan and actress Juhi Chawla with her businessman husband Jay Mehta co-owned the side in the inaugural season of Indian Premier League 2008. The team has come a long way with two titles against their name – IPL 2012 and IPL 2014. Shah Rukh Khan has been an incredible part of his team’s success, from providing constant motivation in wins and defeats to entertaining them in his filmy style.

Initially, they had Sourav Ganguly as the captain, but team’s fortunes changed when Gautam Gambhir had been appointed the captain in 2011. Although the team has gained immense popularity due to its association with celebrity owners, it was surrounded with controversy and poor on-field performance through the first three years of the tournament.

KKR had a good beginning to this season , but have been a little sloppy during the last few games of the league stage. The KKR fans would be hoping that the Gambhir led side bounces back to form in the play-offs. Chris Lynn has been the find of the season. Although, he got injured in between but he has been a very valuable player for the side in the limited matches he has played.Sunil Narine gamble as an opener has also worked on most occasions. Apart from Narine and Kuldeep Yadav, Bowlers like Nathan Coulter Nile have been impressive. With such a balanced side,KKR are one of the favourites for the title this season.
