Pollard hungry for more titles

Harbhajan Singh has been riding a high. In the middle of an excellent Pepsi IPL 2015 the veteran India off-spinner got the brilliant news of a call-up to the Indian Test team for the Bangladesh tour. And on Sunday, May 24, Harbhajan was holding the IPL trophy in his hand, for the second time at his beloved Eden Gardens – his ‘Mother Eden’.

Having contributed with the wickets of Dwayne Smith and Suresh Raina to take the Mumbai Indians to the title, Harbhajan finished the tournament with 18 wickets in 15 matches. In a chat with iplt20.com after the win, the Turbanator was immensely grateful that his efforts had paid off.

What an amazing week you have had!The whole two months have been very good. This tournament is very important to all the cricketers because everyone watches it and if you perform well here people will notice it. Winning the tournament with Mumbai Indians is very special.

We played well as a group and had different heroes in different matches. Recall into the Test team and now the IPL trophy – your motivation has paid off.Every game I play, I give it my all and try to be my best with the ball and bat.

Every game is an opportunity for me. I have put in a lot of hard work since day one and you obviously feel very satisfied when it pays off.You share a special bond with the Eden Gardens.

Does this make it extra special?Kolkata is like my mother. Whatever I have asked from the Eden Gardens, I have always got it. I have won two IPLs here, I got my Test hat-trick here and played in that memorable Test match in 2001.

It means everything to me. I want to say a big thank you to Mother Eden for blessing me with some of my best cricketing memories. The crowd is fantastic here.

Whenever I come here they treat me as one of their own. It feels really special.Talk about Ricky Ponting’s contribution as a coach in this season.

Australians are very positive people. The way Ricky led Australia for so many years was very fascinating to see. He has brought that to MI.

He was very clear in one message to the team throughout the tournament. It was, ‘We are going to play our best cricket and no one can stop us from doing that. If we do it, nobody can come near us‘.

A lot of credit should go to Ricky, Sachin paaji, Shane Bond, Jonty Rhodes, Robin Singh and all the support staff members for our success in this competition..
