Mohammad Kaif has joined Gujarat Lions as their new assistant coach for the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Kaif will work with former Australian cricketer and current Gujarat Lions head coach Brad Hodge. Kaif last played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2012.

Gujarat Lions owner Keshav Bansal welcomed the former India batsman into the support staff with a tweet to which Kaif responded saying he was looking forward to working with an excited group of boys. The Lions play two times winner Kolkata Knight Riders in their tournament opener on April 7 while their second encounter will be against the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9..
