Will create 7 lakh jobs within 30 months: Tripura CM Biplab Deb

  • | Friday | 23rd March, 2018

We have two IPFT ministers in our Cabinet which will be further expanded. I have met 15 ministers in two days and have got Rs 1,000 crore for the state already in the two days. They are our allies and are totally satisfied. It was wrong, but it happened before our government took charge. After I took oath on March 9, not a single incident has happened .Yes we are opening the cases. I am hopeful of taking care of the seven lakh unemployed within two and half years.

On his first visit to Delhi, weeks after BJP dislodged a 25-year old Left regime in the state, BJP's first chief minister in Tripura Biplab Deb , was busy meeting Union ministers to ensure poll promises were kept. Amid his hectic schedule, Deb spoke to TOI's Mohua Chatterjee on a host of issues including the Lenin statue that was pulled down following the BJP victory, triggering off a series of such acts across the country. It is a wrong perception, the IPFT chief was not part of that protest here and they had no formal demand for Twipraland... it is a small section of IPFT which had gathered. There is no trouble with our allies and I have spoken to them. We have two IPFT ministers in our Cabinet which will be further expanded. Their ministers hold important portfolios like finance. They are our allies and are totally satisfied. It was wrong, but it happened before our government took charge. We have already arrested the JCB driver... the rest was a mob. After I took oath on March 9, not a single incident has happened .Yes we are opening the cases. A committee has been set up to look into the 12 murders. Even the two journalists who were recently killed will be looked into... we will punish the guilty. We have promised people that Agartala airport will be renamed as "Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Airport" in honour of the great king of Tripura. That is one of the first things that I have already started working on. I have met 15 ministers in two days and have got Rs 1,000 crore for the state already in the two days. I will be meeting some more ministers before I leave. Big spending has been assured from urban development and rural development ministries for the state, there are projects with ONGC and others that are coming up soon... Bangladesh is a big market for us... I am hopeful of taking care of the seven lakh unemployed within two and half years.
