Tripura introduces two awards for achievers in social work, music

AGARTALA: In a bid to encourage social work and cultural while promoting the heritage of the royal family, the BJP-IPFT government announced the institution of two new awards.While addressing the inaugural session of 36th Agartala Book Fair, deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Monday said as part of the event, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Integration Award for Social Service will be conferred on an individual nominated by an independent jury.The Kalikinkar Debbarma Award for Excellent Performance in Classical Music will be awarded to a person who excels in classical music.
