8 BJP women's wing workers hurt in clashes

AGARTALA: Eight workers of BJP Mahila Morcha were injured in a scuffle among party workers on Tuesday at Laljhuri in North Tripura's Kanchanpur area. The party will take appropriate action," vice-president of the state unit of BJP Subal Bhowmik said. The existing Mahila Morcha unit objected to the meeting, resulting in a heated exchange which eventually led to a violent clash "The incident has come to our notice. Two women have been admitted to Dharmanagar district hospital with serious injuries. "We have launched an investigation, but no arrest has been made yet," police said.The fight reportedly broke out over the formation of a rival Mahila Morcha unit committee at Makumcharra, a meeting for which had been convened by BJP mandal committee members Nirmal Namo and Subodh Chandra Nath.
