Mizoram's Brus may vote from Kanhmun again for Lok Sabha polls

As of now, 25.98 lakh voters are registered in the state's electoral rolls.In Manipur, parties said they are fully prepared for the election. Election to the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency covering the valley districts will be held on April 11, while the Inner Manipur constituency in the hill districts will go to polls on April 18. AIZAWL/AGARTALA/IMPHAL: Mizoram chief electoral officer (CEO) Ashish Kundra on Sunday told reporters that 7,84,405 electors, of which 51% were women voters, would exercise franchise on April 11 for the election to the state lone Lok Sabha seat.Addressing a press conference after the Election Commission announced the date for seven-phased Parliamentary polls, Kundra said polling would be held in 1,175 polling stations, of which at least 10% would be manned by all women polling officials and security personnel.Saying that the state election department was fully geared up to conduct the elections, the CEO added, "Though we are yet to receive any specific instructions, arrangements would again be made for Bru voters in the six Tripura relief camps for erection of temporary polling stations at the Mizoram-Tripura border Kanhmun village as was done in the last state assembly polls.
