Shella clashes Curfew reimposed in Shillong

Fearing possible chances of serious deterioration of law and order in Shillong, curfew was again imposed on Saturday. “Under section 144CrPC, I do hereby promulgate curfew in Shillong city with effect from 12 noon of February 29, 2020, until further orders,” Nongbri added in the statement. In an order, East Khasi Hills district magistrate M War Nongbri said, “Information is received that there is an apprehension of serious deterioration of law and order in Shillong city.” “There is every likelihood of serious breach of peace and tranquillity and may lead to life and property,” Nongbri said. “Under section 144CrPC, I do hereby promulgate curfew in Shillong city with effect from 12 noon of February 29, 2020, until further orders,” Nongbri added in the statement.
