Tripura Mob torches 2 cattle carrying vehicles near Tripura Sundari Temple 4

Two cattle-carrying vehicles were set on fire by locals near the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur on Wednesday. The locals also nabbed 4 persons including the drivers and co-drivers of the vehicles. According to sources, two vehicles were carrying 10 cattle heads from Assam's Pathakandi area in Karimganj district. The locals stopped the vehicles and apprehended 4 persons, including the drivers and co-drivers of the vehicles. However, the locals refused to rely on them and set their vehicles on fire, Das said.

According to sources, two vehicles were carrying 10 cattle heads from Assams Pathakandi area in Karimganj district. The locals stopped the vehicles and apprehended 4 persons, including the drivers and co-drivers of the vehicles. “The locals when enquired found dissimilarities in the statements of the 4 persons,” sources said, adding, “The agitated mob beat them and torched the two vehicles.” After receiving the news from the locals, the fire service personnel rushed to the sport but they had to face the anger of the agitated crowd. In the meantime, a police team from Radha Kishorepur police station reached the spot. With the intervention of the police force, the fire service personnel were able to bring the fire under control. “But the two vehicles, in which the cattle were being carried, were burnt to ashes,” sources said. The police have taken the nabbed drivers and co-drivers of the two vehicles into their custody and the whole incident is being investigated. The two drivers have been identified as Debu Das and Saddam Hussein. Debu Das said they brought 10 cattle heads from Patharkandi in Assam for selling. However, the locals refused to rely on them and set their vehicles on fire, Das said.
