Tripura government to recruit 1468 TET passed teachers

Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the state government is going to recruit 1468 teachers. The education minister said that the Tripura government will send offer letters to the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualified persons from January 20. Of the 1468 teachers to be recruited, 571 are undergraduate and 871 are graduate teachers. A total of 10323 teachers had lost their jobs on March 31 last year following a Supreme Court verdict that termed their recruitment process faulty. As a result, government schools in Tripura are reeling under a huge shortage of teachers. The education minister said that the Tripura government will send offer letters to the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualified persons from January 20. Of the 1468 teachers to be recruited, 571 are undergraduate and 871 are graduate teachers. Earlier the state government had decided to recruit 1725 undergraduate and 2116 graduate teachers. The cabinet will decide for them,” said Ratan Lal Nath. “Some teachers have cleared TET, but they have crossed the age-limit of applying for the government jobs,” he said “We will issue advertisements for such teachers in the state and the cabinet will decide on their recruitment at a later date,” he said further.
