Vaccination of Border Security Force (BSF) jawans against Covid-19 began in Tripura on Thursday. Inspector General of BSF Tripura frontier, Susanta Nath said that hundreds of health workers of BSF will be vaccinated. “These health workers have been dedicatedly providing their valuable services to the public since the pandemic broke out in the country,” Sushanta Nath said. A total of 1532 BSF jawans have tested positive for Covid-19 in the state so far and one of them succumbed to the disease. “All the health workers working in the BSF Composite Hospital are ready to get immunized against Covid-19, said BSF doctor BJ Lalwani after receiving the vaccine shot on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the worlds biggest Covid-19 vaccination campaign across India on January 16. The Indian government planned to vaccinate 3 crores of health and frontline workers in the country during the first phase of the vaccination campaign. The Tripura health department vaccinated 54 per cent of health workers during the first three days of the drive.
