Netaji s 125th birth anniversary celebrated in Tripura

People on Saturday celebrated the 125th anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose by organizing different programmes across the state. The central government recently declared that the birth anniversary of the great leader will be celebrated as 'Parakram Divas' from this year. Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath and West Tripura MP Pratima Bhowmik participated in the programme. Netaji's birth anniversary was also celebrated at the party offices of the BJP, CPI(M) and Congress across the state. The CPI(M) had earlier demanded that the central government declare Netaji's birth anniversary as 'Deshprem Divas' (patriotism day).

Different political parties, clubs, social organizations, NGOs, trade unions and the public could be seen celebrating the occasion in different ways across the state. The Tripura education department organized a colourful programme at the Netaji Subhash School in Agartala. Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath and West Tripura MP Pratima Bhowmik participated in the programme. Netajis birth anniversary was also celebrated at the party offices of the BJP, CPI(M) and Congress across the state. The CPI(M) had earlier demanded that the central government declare Netajis birth anniversary as Deshprem Divas (patriotism day). Over 50 organizations on Saturday participated in a cultural rally that was organized in Dharmanagar to celebrate the occasion. Tripura assembly deputy speaker Biswabandhu Sen inaugurated the rally, during which several tableaus on social issues and legendary figures of the nation were displayed.
