In yet another incident of attack on medical practitioners in the region, a doctor of a Government hospital in Tripura was allegedly assaulted by a group of people in Gomti district. The doctor – Dr Partha Talapatra working in the Natun Bazar Rural Hospital in Gomoti District was allegedly assaulted by the attendants of a patient he was attending, died after being referred to the Gomti district hospital. Following the death of the patient – Pradip Das, his family member attacked Dr Partha Talapatra and Lalmohan Banik, a health worker and physically assaulted them. The victim doctor – Dr Partha Talapatra has lodged an FIR at the Natun Bazar Police Station in regards to the incident. On December 3, a doctor was assaulted in a government hospital on December 3 at Khowai District in Tripura.
