Tripura bags 2nd position among Indian states in Covid 9 immunization

Tripura has been ranked second in the country in terms of vaccinating the maximum numbers of health and frontline workers during the first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive in India The Union health ministry revealed this in a statement on Tuesday. Bihar has bagged the first position after achieving 78 per cent vaccination during the first phase. The first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive began in the country on January 16, during which the ministry had decided to vaccinate 3 crores of health and frontline workers in India. According to data provided by the Tripura health department, 77 per cent of health and frontline workers have been inoculated in the state. According to PIB, 12 states in the country have been able to administer the Covid-19 vaccine to 65 per cent of health workers. According to the state health officials, there has been no report of any adverse effect among those who receive the vaccine shots in the state so far. 90,000 people will receive the Covid-19 vaccine during the second phase of the vaccination drive that began in Tripura last week. The health department has identified 60,000 security personnel, municipal worker, cleaners, employees of the state revenue department and civil defence volunteers for the second phase of the immunization drive.
