185 candidates file nominations for Tripura Autonomous District Council polls

A total of 185 candidates have filed their nominations for the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) polls in Tripura. According to sources in the state election department of the 185 candidates, 103 filed their nominations on Thursday, the last day of filing nominations. Among the 185 candidates, 28 are from CPI(M), 29 from Congress, 14 from BJP, 17 from IPFT, 6 from INPT and the remaining are independent candidates. As The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) is still not a recognized political party, so its candidates will contest as independents. This time they introduced 17 new candidates for upcoming elections.

As The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) is still not a recognized political party, so its candidates will contest as independents. According to the election commission, the scrutiny of nominations will be held on March 15 and the last day to withdraw nomination papers is March 17. Also read: Rebellion within Tripura BJP: Party workers cannot accept IPFT candidates for TTAADC elections TIPRA chairman Pradyot Deb Barman, partys general Secretary Animesh Debbarma, ADC chief executive member Radha Charan Debbarma, youth leader Parikhit Murasing, former Congress MLA Rajeswar Debbarma, IPFT assistant general secretary Mangal Debbarma, Youth IPFT president Shukla Charan Noatia and BJP leader Joy Kishore Debbarma submitted their nominations. The left front has been in power in ADC for the past 15 years. This time they introduced 17 new candidates for upcoming elections. On the other hand, the state election commission has announced a new schedule for the ADC elections according to which elections will be held on April 6 in all the 28 ADC constituencies. The counting will take place on April 10.
