The Tripura government has launched a house to house survey in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) given the massive surge in the Covid-19 cases in the state capital recently.

The Tripura government has launched a house to house survey in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) given the massive surge in the Covid-19 cases in the state capital recently.

A total of 466 survey teams have been formed, who will visit every house that lies under the 51 wards of Agartala Municipal corporation (AMC) to gather information on people showing symptoms of Covid-19 or other symptoms that correlates the indication of Covid-19, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sadar Asim Saha informed.

The health department has been asked to set up an adequate number of testing centres in each of the wards and devise the mechanism to bring all the symptomatic and suspected cases for Covid-19 testing to contain the spread of the Coronavirus, he further added.

Meanwhile, the third phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive started yesterday in Tripura, around 1200 Covaxin doses were administered in six locations of Agartala on Thursday.

Tripura currently has 4034 active cases, with a test positivity rate (TPR) of 5.04%.

The cumulative death toll has reached 426 in the state.
