BJP can soon make big changes in its Tripura unit after a rebellion in the party unit. The central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by the National General Secretary (Organization) BL Santosh has reached for two days after protests by some angry party leaders.

The discussions intensified after reports of these Rebel MLAs joining TMC surfaced.

It is reported that decisions like cabinet expansion in the state and change of responsibilities at the organization level can be taken soon. Earlier some Tripura BJP MLAs had reached Delhi and complained against the Chief Minister of the state, Biplab Dev and party president Manik Shah.

As per media reports, a BJP leader said, "We are the ones who have met Santosh Ji. Everyone has demanded to give such a state president, who can keep the organization strong. The current president Manik Saha is a good man, but we need a strong chief. It is being said that apart from small groups, Santosh is also meeting people one by one.

It is being said that there has been a split in the state unit for the past few months. The cadre may soon expand the cabinet and make changes in the cabinet.

The BJP came to power in Tripura with a huge majority in the 2018 assembly elections, ousting the Communist government of Manik Sarkar. The BJP has 36 seats in the 60-seat Tripura assembly; the IPFT with eight MLAs has also extended support to the BJP.
