Tripura reporter shot dead by policeman during argument

In a shocking indecent, a journalist was shot dead on Tuesday by a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) trooper during an altercation in Bodhjung Nagar in Tripura. Bhaumik, who was visiting the camp for a story was reportedly shot by a rifleman at point blank range. He was rushed to the Agartala Government Medical College where he was declared brought dead.

In a shocking indecent, a journalist was shot dead on Tuesday by a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) trooper during an altercation in Bodhjung Nagar in Tripura. 

Tapan Debbarma, the bodyguard of the TSR`s Second Battalion Commandant has opened fire killing Sudip Datta Bhowmik on the spot. The body of Bhowmik, a reporter working with a local media was brought to Gobinda Ballav Panth Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.

Just months after the death of television journalist Santanu Bhowmick, yet another senior journalist has been killed in Tripura on Tuesday.

Sudip Dutta Bhowmik, a seasoned crime reporter working for the Bengali daily Syandan Patrika, was shot dead inside the Tripura State Rifles camp at RK Nagar in the eastern part of capital Agartala.

Bhaumik, who was visiting the camp for a story was reportedly shot by a rifleman at point blank range. He was rushed to the Agartala Government Medical College where he was declared brought dead. Bhaumik is survived by his wife and two children.
