With final exams knocking on door, Agra University yet to determine exam centres

AGRA: With less than three weeks left before the final exams of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University for the session 2017-18 commence from March 7, the university administration is yet to decide on the exam centres. Around 400 colleges have applied to serve as exam centres till now.Unlike last year, not all colleges that apply can be selected as an exam centre this session. The university administration has also sought details from affiliated colleges on 16 parametres, which an institute will have to meet if it is to become an exam centre. The university administration is making all possible efforts to ensure fair conduct during examinations.”Sharma also informed that a panel of examiners has been constituted to conduct practical examinations at the self-financed colleges.

The university administration has also sought details from affiliated colleges on 16 parametres, which an institute will have to meet if it is to become an exam centre. Last year, the final exams had been held at more than 750 centres.According to university officials, the process of zeroing in on examination centers had been delayed as the self-financed colleges didn’t provide the required details. The process will be completed by this month, they said.University public relation officer, GS Sharma , said, “The examination centers will be determined on the basis of fulfillment of all the given parameters. The selection process has been initiated. To ensure its time-bound completion, vice chancellor Arvind Dixit has called a meeting of exam officials and nodal college authorities on Tuesday. The university administration is making all possible efforts to ensure fair conduct during examinations.”Sharma also informed that a panel of examiners has been constituted to conduct practical examinations at the self-financed colleges. Very soon, he said, examiners would be sent to different institutes for their practical exams. The process of issuing admit cards for the exams will start this week.
