13-year-old boy held for raping 9-year-old girl in Mainpuri

Agra: Mainpuri police on Friday held a 13-year-old boy for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl.According to police the alleged rape was committed on Wednesday when the girl was alone at home. Police officers said that the suspect had threatened the girl with dire consequences if she told anyone about the assault. The suspect had lured her to his house and committed the crime.However, she informed her mother about the crime on Thursday night after which a complaint was lodged. The suspect is a neighbour of the survivor.Officials said the suspect, who stays with his parents, was nabbed soon after the girl’s mother lodged a complaint.Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect had lured the girl with a “silver” ring and when she entered his room, he had allegedly raped her.Mainpuri superintendent of police Rajesh S said that a case has been registered under sections 376 (rape) of IPC and 3/4 of POCSO Act and that the boy would be produced in front of Juvenile Justice Board.
