CBSE upgrades Agra varsity model school to till Class XII

Agra: Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University model school on Khandari campus will now be turned into an intermediate school. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has upgraded affiliation of the high school to intermediate level.The co-ed model school was established two decades ago in 1998 by the then vice-chancellor Manzoor Ahmed. In this regard, an application was moved for affiliation till Class XII and this has been approved by CBSE. The school has staff of 50 teachers.Under the VC’s monitoring, the school has witnessed development of sports and academic infrastructure. He said, “Now, Agra University is one of the very few institutes in the country to provide education from nursery to doctorate.”The university model school presently has around 1,200 students on it rolls from nursery to Class X.

Earlier this year, VC Arvind Kumar Dixit had set target for development of the school. He said, “Now, Agra University is one of the very few institutes in the country to provide education from nursery to doctorate.”The university model school presently has around 1,200 students on it rolls from nursery to Class X. Girls constitute 40% of the total students. The school has staff of 50 teachers.Under the VC’s monitoring, the school has witnessed development of sports and academic infrastructure. Its computer lab and library have been upgraded. For better security on campus, CCTV cameras have been installed.University public relation officer GS Sharma said, “The VC with his team has been making efforts for overall development of model schools. In this regard, an application was moved for affiliation till Class XII and this has been approved by CBSE. Admission forms for Class XI will be made available soon. Students will be allotted seats in science, commerce and arts stream based on their performance in an entrance exam planned to be conducted on April 28.”
