Forest department to plant 20 lakh saplings ahead of monsoon

Agra: Ahead of monsoon, the forest department has set a target of planting 20 lakh trees in the city. It is also reaching out to residents and social groups.District forest officer Manish Mittal said, “We have set a target of planting 20 lakh trees ahead of this monsoon. We are also laying equal emphasis on nurturing the planted saplings.” The aim is to grow one tree per person in the city. The department will not only plant on government land but will also distribute saplings to citizens so they can grow them in their own space.According to officials, the aim is to have at least one new tree for every person in Agra.
