New circle rates not applicable on ongoing projects: Dist admin

After final approval of the state government, the new rates are likely to be implemented on August 1. Similarly, land rate around MG road, Trans Yamuna and part of old city which are, at present, between Rs 70,000 and Rs 95,000 per square meter are demanded around Rs 60,000. Separate rate list will be prepared for agricultural and non-agricultural land. A proposal for determination of rates is being prepared.

Agra: The district administration on Wednesday said that the new circle rates that will be rolled out from August 1 will not be applicable on any of the old project.Land acquisition for inner ring road, civil enclave, road widening work or any other project already being implemented will take place as per the old circle rates.In order to generate more revenue through sale and purchase of land, the district administration is all set to increase circle rates by 10 to 25%.Meanwhile, some builders and property dealers have started approaching stamp and registration department demanding decrease in circle rates claiming slowdown in the real estate.Additional district magistrate Rakesh Kumar said, “An official meeting has been called next week to discuss the circle rates. Separate rate list will be prepared for agricultural and non-agricultural land. A proposal for determination of rates is being prepared. After final approval of the state government, the new rates are likely to be implemented on August 1.
