Doctor found dead with her throat slit at home in Mathura

AGRA: A 40-year-old woman physiotherapist was found dead with her throat slit inside her home at Radhapuram Estate in Mathura on Friday evening. Sanvi immediately rushed to her house on first floor and on the stairs apparently bumped with the suspect, who was coming down. He said that the assailant appeared to be known to the victim.According to the police, the incident occurred around 7 pm, when the victim, Khusboo Agarwal was alone at home. She started crying for help.Neighbours rushed to catch the suspect, but he managed to escape. The crime weapon has also been recovered from the spot.The victim’s brother-in-law, Alok Agarwal told media persons that he spoke to Dr Khusboo on Whatsapp a few minutes before the incident and everything was normal at the time.

While police were yet to make any arrests, they had accessed CCTV footage, which showed that the accused, in his early 30s, was well aware with the topography of the area.Police said that prima facie the motive behind the crime appeared neither robbery nor theft, as nothing had been stolen from the house. They said that the assailant had attacked the doctor with a sharp knife indicating that he, too could be from a medical background.Additional director general of police (Agra zone) Ajay Anand, who visited the crime spot, said that all angles were being investigated. He said that the assailant appeared to be known to the victim.According to the police, the incident occurred around 7 pm, when the victim, Khusboo Agarwal was alone at home. Her husband, Dr Sanjeev Agarwal was at his clinic and their 12-year-old daughter, Sanvi, a student of class eight had gone in the neighbourhood to play with her friends.Suddenly, neighbours heard some cries from Khusboo’s house and immediately informed her daughter, who was playing with other kids. Sanvi immediately rushed to her house on first floor and on the stairs apparently bumped with the suspect, who was coming down. She started crying for help.Neighbours rushed to catch the suspect, but he managed to escape. They, however, snatched the bag he was carrying.Police said that the black coloured bag carried a set of shirts and a pair of trousers along with cough syrup and liver supplements. The crime weapon has also been recovered from the spot.The victim’s brother-in-law, Alok Agarwal told media persons that he spoke to Dr Khusboo on Whatsapp a few minutes before the incident and everything was normal at the time.
