Online system fails to help Agra university students over 21000 applications pending

According to sources, the university has received more than 15,000 applications for verification of marksheets and more than 19,000 applications for issue of degree certificates online so far. I have handed several applications to the university officials but no action has been taken. In many cases, students do not enclose the required documents with the applications, or miss out on details. Kumar had completed his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in 2003 and the department had sent the certificates to the university for attestation a year ago, in 2017.

AGRA: Manoj Kumar 's salary, who is a teacher in the secondary section of a school under the state education department, was stopped after Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University kept delaying the verification of his certificates. Kumar had completed his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in 2003 and the department had sent the certificates to the university for attestation a year ago, in 2017. The university is yet to respond to it.So far, Out of the more than 34,000 applications it received, around 21,000 are still pending Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar UniversityThe online system of addressing students’ issues, including the issue of degree certificates and verification of mark sheets, was introduced by the university vice chancellor Arvind Kumar Dixit on March 1, 2017 to ensure a time-bound processing of issues. It hasn’t been very effective so far. According to sources, the university has received more than 15,000 applications for verification of marksheets and more than 19,000 applications for issue of degree certificates online so far. Out of the more than 34,000 applications it received, around 21,000 are still pending, which means the university has succeeded in sorting out only around 40% of the applications in the last one year.At the time of the launch, the VC had said that an application would be taken care of within 25 days at most. However, several students have been waiting for more than six months. They can still be seen making rounds of varsity offices to get their online applications processed.University registrar KN Singh said, “We are trying to process pending applications in time. A large number of applications have been sorted out in the past few days. In many cases, students do not enclose the required documents with the applications, or miss out on details. This is one of the reasons behind the delays. We are informing them of it.”Vineet Singh had completed his B.Com in 2015. He had applied for his degree in January but has not received it so far. “I have completed my MBA and got an opportunity to work with a multinational company. However, my company demanded that I submit my degree certificate within two months. I have been making rounds of the university every other day to somehow get my degree.”Kumar said, “My salary has been stopped by the department following delay in verification of certificates. I have handed several applications to the university officials but no action has been taken. Nobody is ready to tell me the reason for the delay.”
