Agra varsity withholds results of 172 colleges for not clearing dues

University administration has decided not to declare the results of these colleges till they clear their dues. Agra: Dr Bhimrao Aambedkar University administration has put on hold declaration of results of 172 affiliated colleges as they have not deposited examination fees collected from students. University administration has directed these colleges to clear their dues as soon as possible. On Tuesday, university uploaded a list of defaulter colleges on its website.These self-financed institutes are located in Agra and seven other districts. Till then, their results will not be declared.University public relation officer GS Sharma said, “As many as 172 colleges have not deposited examination fee dues of more than Rs 1 lakh each.

On Tuesday, university uploaded a list of defaulter colleges on its website.These self-financed institutes are located in Agra and seven other districts. They have run up dues totaling over Rs 8 crore for the 2017-18 academic session. University administration has directed these colleges to clear their dues as soon as possible. Till then, their results will not be declared.University public relation officer GS Sharma said, “As many as 172 colleges have not deposited examination fee dues of more than Rs 1 lakh each. Earlier, several reminders were sent to them. But they have failed to deposit the fee collected from students. University administration has decided not to declare the results of these colleges till they clear their dues. Soon legal proceedings will be initiated against these colleges.”According to the list, all the defaulter colleges are private institutions. A majority of these are located in Mainpuri, Etah, Firozabad and Hathras districts. Besides, 24 colleges are in Agra and 28 in Mathura. University administration is going to send the list of these colleges to DMs concerned along with a letter stating that the responsibility of any disturbance created by students for withholding of results will be of their respective colleges.
