Two men arrested with fake currency worth Rs 1150 lakh

Agra: Two men in possession of fake currency worth Rs 11.50 lakh were arrested in Kasganj district.The two, identified as Mohammad Akil and Nepal Singh, are residents of Aligarh and Bulandshahr. The duo was a running fake job consultancy in the area. Later the supplier found that the currency used to pay the amount was also fake.” Under the pretext of providing jobs they charged a hefty fee which was refundable.

Agra: Two men in possession of fake currency worth Rs 11.50 lakh were arrested in Kasganj district.The two, identified as Mohammad Akil and Nepal Singh, are residents of Aligarh and Bulandshahr. They have been involved in the illicit business for last two years.The two were arrested on Thursday night from Amapur road of Sahawar police jurisdiction after the local police received anonymous inputs about the duo’s presence in the district.Speaking to TOI, Ravinder Bahadur Singh, station house officer of Sahawar, said, “Akil and Nepal had a very unique modus operandi to earn money by circulating fake currency. The duo was a running fake job consultancy in the area. Under the pretext of providing jobs they charged a hefty fee which was refundable. Since they never had the intention to provide jobs, when aspirants asked for their refunds, the two would return the entire sum but in fake currencies.”He said, “During investigation we found that Akil and Nepal had a source in Aligarh who would provide them ‘Children Bank of India’ notes at Rs 15 a bundle. To lure job aspirants, the two would keep bundles of fake currencies and some forged mark sheets along with certificates and resumes on their office table in order to give the impression that they were flooded with job requests. In fact on one occasion, they duped a fake currency supplier and bought Rs 6 lakh fake currency for Rs 1 lakh. Later the supplier found that the currency used to pay the amount was also fake.”
