Agra: Incensed after his wife refused to return home with him, a 30-year-old man allegedly shot himself with a country-made weapon on Saturday early morning.Married for two years, the couple had been living separately for the last three months. The deceased was identified as Pramod, a resident of Nagla Pansi village of Eka police jurisdiction, Firozabad district. He barged into the home of his wife, Monica, in Sadiyapur village of Jaithra police jurisdiction, Etah district, with a country-made pistol at around 5 am on Saturday. He then asked his wife to pack her bags and leave immediately with him for Firozabad. Monica insisted she wanted to see her brother first. Infuriated, the man shot himself.According to Jaithra police, “The victim was angered after his wife refused to come with him. The two had had a dispute for the last three months. During questioning, the deceased’s wife said that the she had agreed to come with him, but only after she met her brother.”By the time this report was filed, no written complaint was received by the local police, which is why no one has been booked. The body was sent for post mortem.
