From now on, university will conduct main exams on basis of “new course”. The move aims to end confusion and facilitate early declaration of results.According to university sources, till now, two types of curricula were followed for each undergraduate course — old and new curricula. Colleges had the option to run old or new course. University had introduced the new curriculum five years ago.However, the two-course curricula led to problems in determining question papers, conducting exams and evaluating answersheets.Last year, in an exam based on new course, question papers of the old course were distributed. University administration had to face student’s protest.University public relation officer GS Sharma said, “Now, university will have one course and one pattern for undergraduate exams. A decision has been taken to completely do away with the old course. Exams will be conducted on the basis of the new course. The new course for first-year students has major changes in Sanskrit, Hindi, Philosophy, Psychology and English. The move will help in early declaration of results.
