Agra: Ahead 2019 Lok Sabha polls, chief minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation of and inaugurated several public welfare projects with a total value of Rs 623 crore in Farrukhabad and Etah districts.Addressing rallies in both districts, he said, “Casteism and family politics is the biggest threat and obstacle for the development and growth of nation. Our government is impartial and treats everyone equal. We all take everyone together towards the better future.”The CM’s visit is seen as a part of BJP’s aggressive pitch for the 2019 polls with Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself taking a lead in holding 15 rallies across the state from May 1. On Saturday, Modi addressed a rally in Shahjahanpur, where Yogi was present.A day later, CM first visited Farrukhabad and paid a surprise visit to Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya district hospital. Unhappy with unhygienic conditions and poor care of patients, CM reprimanded senior doctors. Last year, 49 infants were reported dead in just one month due to shortage of oxygen in the hospital.Thereafter, Yogi flagged off nearly 50 mini trucks carrying placards, posters and loudspeakers which will carry messages of state government’s achievements since Yogi-led BJP government took charge in 2017.Later, addressing a public gathering at Awas Vikas Ground in Farrukhabad, CM said, “Unlike previous governments who gave power supply to a handful of select districts, our government has ensured all 75 districts receive electricity for at least 20 hours a day in urban and 18 hours in rural areas. The governments, both state and Centre, are committed to the welfare and growth of every citizen, ensuring that the even lowest strata impoverished person in not left behind.”Referring to the problems faced by farmers of this potato belt, Yogi “We declared mini support price for potato farmers, ensured basic amenities such as water, power and roads to very village. Our government also focused on women safety, hospitals, schools and jobs for unemployed youths.”The CM went on to add, “Previous governments neglected districts like Farrukhabad even for basic amenities. He also distributed certificates to beneficiaries of the pension scheme, farmer loan waiver scheme, Ujwala Yojana and other schemes.Addressing to public gathered at Etah, CM said, “Under one district, one product scheme, government is committed to promoting district’s bell industry. We have also cleared a proposal for the development of a medical college in Etah. Soon, we will lay foundation stone for the project.”Yogi claimed that BJP government gave free power connection to 46 lakh farmers and build 1.85 lakh affordable homes for poor in the state. In Etah alone, his government waived off loans of 56,000 farmers, he added.
