Woman hits mother-in-law with slippers till she dies

My son (Rashid), his wife (Shabnam) and two other men started robbing all valuable items from our house. When my wife Nasira (50) intervened, Shabnam thrashed her with slippers on the head. “The four accused had barged inside our house when my wife and daughter were sleeping. They broke open the cupboard and took away jewellery and cash that I had kept for my daughter’s wedding.

Agra: A resident of city’s Wazirpura area has registered an FIR against his son, daughter-in-law and two others for the death of his wife. The victim’s husband said that his daughter-in-law had rained slippers on his wife after a confrontation which led to the latter’s death.According to police, the crime took place around 2.15 am on May 30. “The four accused had barged inside our house when my wife and daughter were sleeping. My son (Rashid), his wife (Shabnam) and two other men started robbing all valuable items from our house. They broke open the cupboard and took away jewellery and cash that I had kept for my daughter’s wedding. When my wife Nasira (50) intervened, Shabnam thrashed her with slippers on the head. My wife collapsed soon after and died. The police had conducted a postmortem but did not file any FIR. The accused were also released after a brief detention,” said Nasir (56), the victim’s husband.On the court’s order, the Hariparvat police on Friday lodged an FIR under IPC sections 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder ), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) against Shabnam (30), Rashid (25) and two others - Guddu (35) and Hanif (45).Mahesh Chandra Gautam, station house officer of Hariparvat police station, said, “Based on the court’s order, an FIR has been lodged. After an investigation, the accused will be arrested.”
